Matariki Poems

Last week was Matariki week. H1 and 2 celebrated by writing our own Matariki poems. Have a read of some of them below:

English Version
Matariki is a time to celebrate with kai and aroha.
It is a time to
Share korero.
Share aroha.
Share pumahara.
Matariki is a signal to look back and see how far you’ve come over the year.
Matariki is the traditional Maori New Year in June.

Maori Version

Matariki is the time of Maori New Year.
It's a time of harvest.
It's a time of moemoea.
It's whanau.
It's aroha.
It's a koha.
It's  a time for whakanui.
It's a time for remembering our tipuna.
